These earrings are made with stones from Lake Superior and sterling silver. The silver is oxidized to get the grey color.
These stones, along with all the stones in my jewelry, have been found by my husband and myself at Lake Superior. Yes, we spend a lot of time at the beach!
The majority of these rock are basalt.
We may have drilled or cut them but otherwise they are un-altered and untreated.
They will absorb some of your oils and deepen in color and take on a beautiful sheen.
I try to find fairly thin rocks and I think you will find them to be much lighter than you would expect.
Each piece is unique
These rocks are medium grey and smooth. They are bezel set and placed in a U shape with a “twig” set diagonally across. The twig is a melted piece of wire instead of a cast one like I’ve done before. The ear wires are silver and handmade.
They measure 2 1/4 inches from where they hang in your ear to the bottom of the hoop.
